What Happens After You Send the Form
No sales team, no call centre and nobody working on commission. When you get in touch you are dealing with Richard, who has run the business since 2000, or one of the two people who would be on site.
Within 24 hours, usually. We look at what you have sent and come back with a provisional figure, or with the two or three questions we need answering first. If your garden has something in it we cannot judge from a photo, we will say so rather than guess.
A site visit only if it needs one. Plenty of jobs never do. Where the ground is complicated, access is tight, or you want to see board samples in your own garden, we will come out at a time that suits — including evenings and weekends.
A written, itemised quote. Materials, groundwork, labour and any extras listed separately, so you can see what you are paying for and compare it properly against anyone else's.
Then it is entirely up to you. We do not chase, and we do not do discounts that expire on Friday. We would rather you took a fortnight over a five figure garden than felt rushed into it.
Getting the Most Accurate Quote First Time
If you have already sent the form, none of this is essential. It is simply what lets us price a job accurately rather than approximately.
Photos From a Distance
Two or three from different angles, taken standing back rather than close up. We are looking at levels, drainage and what is already there.
The Access Route
A photo of how materials would reach the garden. This is the single thing most likely to change a price, and the thing most quotes forget to ask about.
Anything Unusual
A slope, a tree in the way, no side access, an old deck to come up, or a hot tub going on it. All of these change how the deck is built.

Do you charge for quotes or site visits?
No. Quotes and site visits are free and carry no obligation. Most quotes are done from photos and measurements without a visit at all, which is quicker for both of us and means you are not waiting on an appointment.
Do you need to visit before quoting?
Often not. Photos and rough measurements are usually enough for a provisional figure. Where the ground is complicated, access is tight, or you want to see board samples in your own garden, we will come out at a time that suits you.
Do you supply decking boards without fitting them?
No. We are a supply and fit installer rather than a board merchant, so materials only come as part of an installation we carry out. That way the sub-frame, fixings and edge detail are all our responsibility rather than yours.
How much does decking cost?
As a guide, timber decking runs from around £100 to £150 per square metre supplied and fitted, and composite from £150 to £250. Sloping ground, restricted access and raised decks needing steps and balustrades all push a job towards the upper end.

How far ahead are you booking?
It varies with the season, and spring and early summer are always busiest. We will tell you our realistic lead time when we quote rather than promise a date we cannot hold. Most decks take two to three days once we start.
